Gay Pride & Other Delicious Things

One of the gals I work with is getting married in March and she asked if I'd be interested in doing a tasting.  She wanted a smaller cake for the bride & groom and then a table of mini desserts for the guests.  Mini desserts!!!???  MY FAVORITE!!!  :)

Per her request,  I made some red velvet, carrot and chocolate peanut butter mini cupcakes.  I also made some cheesecake swirl brownies and cake truffles.  She also mentioned in passing her favorite dessert was creme brulee soooooooooo....

Unbeknownst to her, I decided to experiment!!!  :)  And sinseriously, you guys, this is probably one of the best things I've ever made...  She LOVED them!  I'm really excited!!!

SALTED CARAMEL CREME BRULEE CUPCAKES

These babies are GOOD.  Soooo good in fact that a leftover cupcake I brought to the pub was shared at a table & won me another order for next week!  At the same table was the owner of high end grocery store chain in Chicago and he gave me his card!  I LOVE that people love these as much as I do!!!

I'm going to follow up tomorrow so we'll see what happens.  :)

Aside from booking a wedding, it's just been a super fun week in general.  I've gotten no sleep at all but sometimes it's just worth it!  The Gay Pride Parade was right around the corner from my apartment and it was SUPER FUN.  The parade floats lined up right outside the pub so the servers & I decided to dress up as The Village People (I was the Construction Worker). It was so hot we all kind of shed parts of our costumes about half way through.

And in even MORE fun...  I got to be the Beer Tub Girl.  (I'm going to pretend I'm MUCH more flattering in real life but oh well!)  I sold beer out of the window to passersby and got to watch the whole parade!!!  P.S.  The tool belt came in handy, let me tell ya!

"Any of you boys need a beer?"

This was the parade.  I took these pictures with my cell phone so they're pretty lousy.  These people were neat, though!  They had balloons attached all over their bodies like peacocks!

In a perfect world, I gorgeously captured the balloon letters that spell out P-R-I-D-E.  In this world however, I caught R-D-E.  (Take care, T-C-B--OH! A little respect!)

More floats & stuff!

I LOVE Chicago!!!
Everyone is always out & about at these street festivals!

And the best part of all is that my Booger B (Brandon, my friend from L.A.), came to visit for the weekend.  He's moving out here August 1st and we spent the day laughing and getting sunburnt.  It was AWESOME to see him.  :)  :)  :)

And that's what I've been up to!!!
Tylenol PM time, folks!
This gurrrl be tiiiiiiiiiiiiiired.  :)

Nailed & hammered (I wish!),
